Description
| Headline: | IT'S STILL LOVE & LOYALTY |
| Description: | Slum Records was started in 2001 by J. Shields, president and CEO of the Unstoppable SR, and former group member of the 21st Family produced by DJ Fela (RIP). Although Slum Records was on a fast pace to becoming one of the most dominate Rap/Hip-Hop labels to ever come out of Memphis, Tennessee, it was quickly derailed by haters and snakes within the label as well as those on the outside looking in. Frustrated, and tens of thousands of dollars mislaid, J. Shields, a self made man, said F!! it. While on his way to pursuing further options, J. Shields tried many "get rich quick schemes" instead of focusing on his true destiny-to continue his dreams of millions and to leave his legacy of dominance in the music industry. Now the new saga begins with more talent, more experience, better producers, and most of all, more MONEY. Its too late to turn back now—ride or die… Street entrepreneur, J. Shields, is determined to put Memphis as the front run of the Hip Hop Community by any means necessary. “The Slum Records vision is to become the next Hip Hop mobile to dominate the industry with real lyrics and top quality production, not bullshit lyrics with poor or top quality production, you know, most of the shit you hear on the radio everyday. We’re on a mission to show the world that hip hop and gangster rap along with R&B still exist in Memphis.” “This aint a game, this real life!” says J. Shields, “I was taught game, by game, learned to peep game, to survive and make it up out da game.” The new theme of Slum Records, also the first nationwide album to be released under the Slum Records Label, is a saying from the early 70’s—“Love and Loyalty.” Playtime is over! |
